Manavi Farm is a broad acre farm in Western Australia producing grain and in 2014 diversifying into Pastured, free range hens producing eggs.
Consisting of 4 mobile homes which house up to 600 hens each, the coops include a state of the art laying system to keep the eggs clean to avoid having to wash them, the coops are moved weekly so the hens have access to fresh pasture. Their diet also consists not only of insects, worms and grubs plus it is supplemented with a non GMO high quality pallet mix to ensure the hen has a balanced diet.
The hens are protected from foxes and eagles by investing in two beautiful Mareema dogs called Bonnie and Thelma.
The hens are in the best possible environment to lay the freshest most nutrient dense egg for you to enjoy.
We have been lucky enough to spend the last 6 years learning all about the Pastured Egg industry. It is time now for us to move on to other things and we will miss our hens very much. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years we have honestly had such a great time with the hens and meeting so many like minded people that want to see the hens live in such a wonderful environment. We will especially miss Bonnie and Thelma but it is crucial that they stay with their hens. We would like to wish Kelly and Justin all the best in carrying on our pastured hen journey. You will still find our eggs on the shelves under the Barracks Label or the Good Grocer label.
